Penafiel Castle to Barcelona
This journey begins at Penafiel Castle, built in the 10th century during the Christian re-conquest of Spain. To the east is Zaragoza and its striking 18th-century cathedral with four high towers. To the north is Loarre Castle, one of Europe's greatest Romanesque fortresses, and said to be the oldest fortified one in Spain.
