Fair winds have the crew sailing back to the mainland. After following in his dad's footsteps for the last three months, Dean takes the crew to finally meet him. The expedition is over but Anika takes a final swim and in a bitter twist is bitten by a bull shark. She is airlifted to hospital. Anika survives her shark bite, but the tourism authorities doubt her story and she is trolled. Her lengthy mental and physical rehabilitation climax's by being taken back to Middleton Reef, famous for sharks, to face her fears. With the support of Dean and the crew, Anika swims with sharks again.
