Bayliss and Pembleton are called in on the shopping mall shooting of ten year old Patrick Garbarek. When Patrick is put on life support and pronounced brain-dead, they must investigate the case as a homicide. As they search for the shooter, Patrick's parents go through the expected turmoil and anxiety while their son lies lifeless in the hospital.
