Bayliss, taking charge of his first case, visits the crime scene of the brutal slaying of eleven-year-old Adena Watson, then must break the news of her death to her mother. The other detectives pitch in to help, while Bayliss learns from Medical Examiner Blythe that a vital piece of evidence was lost at the scene.
