Saving Private Ryan

A realistic re-creation of World War Two's D-day invasion and its aftermath. A veteran brings his family to the American cemetery at Normandy, and a flashback takes Capt. John Miller and GIs to the 1944 approach to Omaha Beach. On the beach littered with bodies is the one with the name 'Ryan' on his backpack, the only survivor among his three brothers. After losing one man in a skirmish at a bombed village, some in the group begin to question the logic of losing more lives to save a single soldier.
