Michael Bigelow is scheduled to be executed at midnight for the murder of Peter Larsen sixteen years ago, but his daughter, Lee, takes Colonel Barnfather hostage. She wants her father's execution stopped. Giardello orders Bolander, the original primary on Larsen's murder, to reopen the case.
