The Queen of the Narrows - a cruise ferry with nearly five hundred passengers aboard cuts through the stormy waters of the Atlantic as it sails towards St. John's, Newfoundland. Up on the bridge, a huge BANG rocks the ship. Chaos ensues as frightened passengers struggle to escape the capsizing vessel. By the time rescue boats start arriving, the ferry has already slipped below the surface. Investigators of the incident are left with more questions than answers.

1943. Cornered and with the tide of WWII turning irreversibly against it, Germany engaged in total war. Hitler needed men to fight. By drawing on resources within the Hitler Youth, and by launching a wide-scale recruitment process, he managed to enlist 20,000 teenagers to establish the sadly infamous 12th SS Panzer Division Hitler-Jugend. Within less than a year, they were trained to overcome their own physical and psychological limits.

Paul meets chatty nine-year-old Ocean, who was in perfect health until she woke up one morning with a mysterious swelling on her forehead. After a series of tests, Ocean tells Paul she's been diagnosed with Pott's puffy tumour, a very rare bone infection. She is immediately put on a six-week course of intravenous antibiotics medication, with Paul on hand to keep her spirits up during her recovery.
