Operation Dragoon: The Other D-Day
In 1944 the Allies decided to attempt a double invasion in the North and South of France. Their plan was to ensnare the Germans in a pincer, and end the war. Operation Overlord, the more famous of the two invasions, took place in Normandy on June 6th 1944. Operation Dragoon, Overlord's lesser known sister, took place in Provence on August 15th 1944. What happened during the "Other D-Day"?
